The Industrial Engineer I supports manufacturing operations by analyzing production processes, improving workflow efficiency, reducing waste, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. The Industrial Engineer I will closely work with production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize manufacturing performance, increase productivity, and support operational excellence within a capital equipment manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist in analyzing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost reduction
  • Support time studies, labor utilization analyses, capacity planning, and workflow assessments
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing procedures
  • Assist with facility layout planning and workstation design to improve material flow and ergonomics
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing performance metrics
  • Support implementation of process improvements and monitor results
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and bottlenecks
  • Assist with inventory optimization and material handling improvements
  • Support new product introductions by evaluating manufacturability and production readiness
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 0-3 years of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations experience
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with process mapping, time studies, and workflow analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong communication and teamwork attributes
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in capital equipment, heavy manufacturing, or industrial machinery environments
  • Exposure to ERP systems and manufacturing software
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or facility layout software
  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing
