Job description

Your role

The Engineering Clerk is responsible for providing review of blueprints, change orders, and other engineering data to prepare and maintain master parts listings, catalogs, and other documentation used for material requisition, disbursement, inventory control, production planning, scheduling, and related manufacturing activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work with Engineering, Program Management and Supply Chain to update ERP system with new part numbers, job BOM's and other information required to move Engineering design into manufacturing.
  • Implement changes to data systems and maintain data system integrity; including, but not limited to change orders, non-conformance tracking, system routings.
  • Compare data with source documents or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors.
  • Create print packages for production, ensuring documents meet standards for production.
  • Review drawings and supporting documents to verify adherence to organization and/or industry standard procedures.
  • Provide assistance for such engineering activities as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype or specialized test equipment.
  • Oversee ECO process to provide assistance to engineering team on timely completion of Engineering Changes.
  • Active involvement in continuous improvement activities within the Engineering Department and with other functional groups.
  • Work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Other jobs and duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • A.A. Degree or equivalent experience, or combination of education and experience required.
  • At least two years' experience as an administrator or clerk, ideally in a technical, engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous drafting/design or related work experience required.
  • Previous AutoCAD and/or Solidworks experience required.
  • Knowledge of drafting and/or design, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand layouts, drawings, and designs.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Beginning to Intermediate AutoCAD and/or Solidworks skills in 2D and 3D.
  • Ability to interact with other members of the organization.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary: $33-$37/hr
