Job Title: Engineer Quality II

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 2 Years - Possible Extension
Location: East Moline, IL 61244
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Schedule: Must be willing to work off-shifts, overtime, and weekends when needed.


Description:

Job Summary

Supports the Quality Engineering (QE) team with quality planning, process control, inspection, and continuous improvement activities. The role works closely with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and suppliers to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
  • Support quality throughout production and delivery processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support the design, testing, and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Perform inspections and evaluate compliance with quality specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Support product development and engineering activities.
  • Work with SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT to perform engineering functions.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and subcontractors when required.
  • Identify process/system gaps and support change management.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Support project activities according to established project plans.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant technology, regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience in one or more related areas such as: Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Design Engineering
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with production teams and external suppliers.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and execute multiple tasks.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work off-shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.

Preferred Skills
  • Previous shop-floor experience in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CVML, torque tooling, or other mistake-proofing tools.
  • JDAAT coding experience.
  • Experience with MES systems, such as SAP or Ignition.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Creo View experience.
  • Experience with quality tools, process control, inspection, and corrective actions.
