Job description

Position Overview:

The Electrical Project Engineer supports Service Complete Electric's commercial construction projects by assisting in planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of electrical work. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, BIM, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards. The Electrical Project Engineer plays a key role in document control, procurement support, coordination, and maintaining project organization. This position requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination
  • Assist Project Managers with project setup, scheduling, and execution planning
  • Support development and tracking of project schedules and key milestones
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with project goals
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to leadership

Technical Review and Design Support
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance
  • Support value engineering efforts and change order documentation
  • Identify design conflicts and constructability issues early in the project lifecycle
  • Assist with system design checks and coordination with BIM and design teams

Document Control and Project Administration
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project files in Procore and other platforms
  • Track project changes and ensure proper documentation and communication
  • Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and project updates

Procurement and Material Coordination
  • Assist with material takeoffs and procurement processes
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Track material orders and resolve discrepancies or delays
  • Identify long-lead items and ensure alignment with project schedules

Field and Construction Support
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field leadership to support daily operations
  • Assist in resolving field issues, RFIs, and coordination challenges
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to plans
  • Ensure installation aligns with drawings, specifications, and company standards

Quality Control and Compliance
  • Support compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
  • Assist in identifying and addressing scope, schedule, and budget-related issues
  • Help ensure installations meet project quality expectations

Collaboration and Communication
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ensure changes in scope or schedule are communicated promptly
  • Foster strong working relationships across all project stakeholders

Safety and Risk Awareness
  • Support adherence to company safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Identify and communicate potential job site risks or hazards
  • Promote a culture of safety across all project activities

Required Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of experience in electrical construction or a similar engineering/support role
  • Understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and safety practices
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications
  • OSHA 10 Certification required
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, trade school training, or related field
  • Experience with Bluebeam, MS Project, Accubid, Procore, or similar platforms
  • Additional certifications such as PMP, PE, or OSHA 30
  • Experience with BIM or digital construction tools
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in both office and construction site environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work in elevated or confined spaces
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong visual ability to read blueprints and technical documents

Signing Bonus Information:

Service Complete Electric may offer a signing bonus of up to $15,000 for qualified candidates in recognition of the critical nature of these roles. Signing bonuses are not standard compensation and are available only to new external hires with prior written approval. Signing bonuses are not guaranteed, are discretionary, and are subject to change.

Approved signing bonuses are paid in installments over the employee's first year of continuous employment and require the employee to be actively employed at the time each installment is paid. Final terms, if approved, are governed by the offer letter, which will outline the specific amount, payment schedule, and any repayment obligations if employment ends before one year.

Signing bonuses are processed through payroll and are subject to applicable taxes and withholdings. Subject to executive approval.
