A well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Civil Professional Engineer (PE) with 0-5 years of post-licensure experience. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of civil site and land development projects within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. Engineers have the opportunity to work across multiple project types, expanding both technical depth and professional responsibility.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform civil site and facility analysis and design as a Project Engineer and/or Engineer of Record
- Prepare conceptual designs, final designs, and construction plans and specifications
- Perform engineering calculations
- Assemble civil engineering construction and permitting documents, including plans and reports
- Prepare applications and forms for plan approvals and permitting
- Maintain and update civil engineering records and reports
- Perform office-based and field-based engineering work related to civil engineering and construction projects
- Verify and back-check all work prior to submission to project leads or supervisors
- Coordinate permitting and plan approval activities
- Mentor engineering design technicians and engineering interns
- Supervise design coordination with internal team members and external project stakeholders
- Assist with development of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of plans, reports, calculations, applications, and related documents
- Perform additional engineering duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 0-5 years of post-PE licensure experience
- Proficiency with one or more of the following software platforms:
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- ICPR
- WaterCAD
- AutoTURN
- High-level project coordination or project management: 6 months
- Post-registration relevant civil engineering experience: 5 years
- Application of general civil engineering design principles and criteria: 5 years
- Construction document preparation for competitive construction bidding: 5 years
- Experience in the following areas (minimum 5 years):
- Land Development
- Site Geometry
- Utility services and mains design
- Site grading
- Storm drainage design
- Stormwater management
- Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPPP) design
- Local agency code analysis and implementation in design
- Preparation of project documentation and technical reports: 5 years
