What You'll Do
- Design and develop lifting devices, tooling, fixtures, and equipment using CAD software
- Create and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Support forging, fabrication, and metalworking operations through practical design solutions
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve manufacturing processes
- Evaluate existing equipment and recommend design improvements
- Assist with project planning, layouts, and implementation of new equipment
- Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and operational requirements
- Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and develop effective engineering solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and facility leadership
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- 1-3+ years of CAD/Design experience REQUIRED
- Experience designing lifting devices, tooling, or industrial equipment strongly preferred
- Knowledge and practical use of CAD software in an industrial manufacturing environment
- 3-5+ years of manufacturing, metal fabrication, blacksmithing, or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication methods
- Experience reading and creating technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of forging operations, metal forming, fabrication, and welding processes
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms preferred
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance software is a plus
- Blacksmith, fabrication, metalworking, and welding experience highly preferred
