Job description
Are you an engineering student looking to apply your technical knowledge to real-world projects? Do you enjoy solving complex problems and seeing your ideas progress from concept to detailed design? Would you like to gain hands-on experience working alongside some of Canada's leading engineers in the field of nuclear decommissioning? Our Whiteshell location is looking for an Engineering Student to assist in the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for new facilities and modifications to existing buildings and structures. What you will be doing!
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and tracking of engineering and commissioning tasks.
- Supporting the preparation and review of commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists.
- Participating in site activities, system walkdowns, and commissioning tests under supervision.
- Helping collect data, recording test results, and updating project and commissioning documentation.
- Supporting coordination between engineering, operations, maintenance, and contractors.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Currently enrolled or accepted to third year or higher Engineering program.
- Experience
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite software such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Proficiency with AutoCAD is also an asset.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform classical and computerized design calculations and familiarity with analysis and modeling software in their specific discipline will be an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."
Working Conditions:
- Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, Ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
