Job description

As a preventative maintenance diesel technician at Southern Haulers, you will be  responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engine trucks, and  various types of trailers. Your role is crucial in keeping our fleet in top condition,  minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe and reliable service to our customers. Service 

Technician Schedule:  

  • Monday-Friday: 3:30 P.M.-1:00 A.M.  

PM Technician Responsibilities:  

  • Perform inspections on trucks and trailers. 
  • Perform oil changes, transmission fluid changes, and replace fuel  filters. 
  • Record any and all issues found and report to supervisors/lead techs.
  • Perform small repairs such as, but not limited to, brakes, tires, and lights.
  • Keep written records of items found on inspections.  
  • Maintain a clean work environment.

  • Performance based raise after 90 days.  
  • Overtime pay after forty hours.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of work experience as a lube technician, automotive mechanic,  or diesel mechanic. 
  • ~OR~ Degree or certificate in diesel technology from any trade school.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, their components, and systems is a  plus.  
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
