Position Purpose: The Violence Prevention Community Support Team (VP-CST) is a specialized behavioral health service designed to reduce traumatic stress symptoms and improve community functioning for individuals who have experienced chronic exposure to firearm violence. The Peer Support Worker (PSW) leverages lived experience, credibility, and deep community knowledge to support violently injured patients from the moment of hospital contact through recovery. PSWs provide bedside engagement, emotional stabilization, mentoring, and practical assistance. They help patients navigate trauma responses, connect to services, and build safety and resilience. This role is highly relational, field-based, and requires real-time responsiveness to hospital referrals.

Education and Work Experience:
