Job Summary
Performs a wide variety of payroll processing activities and record keeping to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the bi-weekly payroll. Proficient in working in Payroll and Time and Attendance software systems including editing functions. Provides guidance, direction and education to managers, timekeepers and employees in payroll related matters.
Essentials Functions

- Assists employees in understanding and interpreting pay stubs and how Prisma Health pay policies and governmental tax laws affect their check. Works with HRIS and banking personnel to work out problems with accounts of employees. Research questions and computations regarding gross pay, salary, deductions, retroactive pay. Interprets and explains payroll policies and practices to employees.
- Processes and records on demand checks including calculating wages, deductions and appropriate taxation. Calculates overtime, differentials and other special adjustments for on demand checks. Ensures requests are completed appropriately with the authorized signatures.
- Educates timekeepers on daily basis regarding the Time and Attendance system and the processing of edits and interpreting the timecard. Responsible for maintaining timekeeper security access in UKG. Ensures requests are completed appropriately with the authorized signatures.
- Audits the UKG Time and Attendance System to ensure all timekeeping records comply with FLSA and Prisma Health guidelines.
- Responsible for entering and balancing all pay requests into the payroll system that are received by the payroll department on a bi-weekly basis.
- Coordinates with various departments and entities (YMCA, Foundations, United Way, Childcare, etc.) to compute deduction amounts and enters into payroll system. Research arrears and discrepancies and notifies manager as discrepancies arise for resolution.
- Calculates and processes all pay changes that involve retro payments in the payroll system including pay changes and incentives
- Make corrections needed prior to processing to maintain data integrity by working payroll ticketing system. (Workday Help or Service now for UKG)
- Provides support to employees on check modeling. Process Worker's Compensation, Social Security and garnishments wage statement requests and provides requested information for subpoenas. Performs duties as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field of study.
- Experience - Five (5) years of payroll experience
In Lieu Of
- In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, a high school diploma or equivalent and ten (10) years of payroll experience may be considered.
