Job Summary
Performs repairs, preventative maintenance, operational functions and new work supporting the objectives of the Facilities Engineering Department at Prisma Health and documents work as required.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains physical items at Prisma property such as, ceilings, floors, walls, furniture, artwork, equipment, etc. Collaborates with team to address issues.
  • Performs maintenance repairs or installations while maintaining safety of self and others. Investigates delays, solves problems, and ensures timely completion of work.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and documents as required.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance, complying with Joint Commission, DPH, and other codes/standards.
  • Responds to fire alarms and emergency codes at all facilities.
  • Inspects all outside lighting and reports problems promoting a safe environment.
  • Assists other maintenance mechanics and crafts as needed on repairs.
  • Performs work accurately and in a timely manner without close supervision. Documents work performed in an accurate and timely manner. Available for Call-Back in emergency situations. Observes all safety procedures and ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Receives in-service training periodically on testing of emergency generators.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.


Minimum Requirements
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned
  • Experience - Two (2) years maintenance experience.


In Lieu Of
  • In lieu of education and experience requirements noted above, 2-year college degree (e.g., Associate's) or completion of a technical certification, apprenticeship, or accredited trade program with no experience may be considered.


Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
  • A valid driver's license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart; and proof of auto insurance.
