About the Role

DACUT Cannabis is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cultivation Inventory Specialist to oversee inventory accuracy throughout the entire cultivation and post-harvest lifecycle. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate plant and product inventory from propagation through harvest, drying, curing, trimming, packaging, and transfer into production or finished goods inventory.

The Cultivation Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in METRC compliance, inventory reconciliation, and operational efficiency. This position works closely with Cultivation, Post-Harvest, Processing, Packaging, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure all plant movements, harvests, conversions, transfers, and inventory transactions are completed accurately and on time.

Essential Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate plant and product inventory throughout the cultivation and post-harvest lifecycle.
  • Track inventory from propagation through harvest, drying, curing, bucking, trimming, packaging, and finished goods.
  • Perform routine cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, weight variances, and documentation errors.
  • Ensure inventory remains accurate and organized across cultivation rooms, post-harvest areas, and inventory locations.
  • Verify inventory accuracy before transfers between departments, production facilities, or retail locations.

METRC & Compliance

  • Complete daily METRC transactions, including plant movements, tag management, harvests, waste, package creation, conversions, adjustments, and transfers.
  • Generate, assign, maintain, and reconcile plant and package tags.
  • Ensure all cultivation and post-harvest activities comply with CRA regulations and company SOPs.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all inventory transactions.
  • Prepare inventory records for internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Partner with the Compliance team to investigate and resolve inventory or METRC discrepancies.

Harvest and Post-Harvest Coordination

  • Coordinate inventory activities before, during, and after harvest.
  • Verify harvest weights, production weights, waste records, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure harvested material is accurately transferred from Cultivation to Post-Harvest.
  • Monitor inventory through drying, curing, bucking, trimming, packaging, and production.
  • Coordinate and verify inventory transfers between Cultivation, Post-Harvest, Processing, and Packaging.
  • Support inventory reconciliation following harvest and production activities.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate inventory reports, cultivation records, harvest records, and post-harvest documentation.
  • Monitor inventory trends and identify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist leadership with inventory planning, reconciliation, and forecasting.
  • Provide accurate inventory information to Cultivation, Compliance, and Operations leadership.
  • Ensure all inventory records and supporting documents are organized and audit-ready.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Cultivation, Post-Harvest, Processing, Packaging, Compliance, and Operations teams.
  • Communicate inventory issues, discrepancies, and operational concerns to leadership.
  • Assist with developing and improving inventory controls, workflows, and SOPs.
  • Support company initiatives focused on compliance, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of inventory, cultivation, warehouse, manufacturing, or compliance experience.
  • Strong inventory auditing, reconciliation, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies and identify their root causes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Cannabis cultivation or post-harvest experience.
  • Experience using METRC.
  • Inventory auditing or cycle-counting experience.
  • Experience working in regulated agriculture, manufacturing, food production, or cannabis processing.
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of Michigan CRA regulations and cannabis compliance requirements.
