Job description
SUMMARY: SUMMARY: The navigator nurse will improve patient preparedness for treatment by providing education and psychosocial supportand assistance with navigation through a multidisciplinary care system. The nurse navigator is to facilitate interaction betweenpatients and their physicians, provide logistical support, coordinate appointments, and serve as a guide through cancer treatment. The nurse navigator will provide varying levels of service to patients during early detection, screening, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The primary role is to eliminate barriers to care.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years RN and 2 years Oncology preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong written and verbal skills, excellent customer service, and organizational skills
OTHER: Basic computer skills.
LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) Preferred: OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
EDUCATION: Required: Associates - Nursing, Preferred: Bachelors - Nursing
