Position: Quality Control Technician

Pay: $23.50 per hour

Hours: Monday - Friday: 4pm - 1am

Job Description:

Quality Control Technicians are a critical part of our production team and play an essential role in ensuring every product meets our quality and compliance standards. Serving as a key checkpoint throughout the manufacturing process, this role is responsible for inspecting products and materials, identifying and documenting defects, tracking quality data, and communicating quality concerns. Quality Control Technicians help prevent errors, maintain consistency, and ensure only products that meet company and regulatory standards move forward in the production process.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect raw materials, work-in-process materials, finished goods, and packaged products before, during, and after the manufacturing process to ensure they meet company specifications and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Review and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and product specifications.
  • Approve or reject products as necessary to ensure compliance with applicable cannabis regulations and company quality standards.
  • Identify and correctly categorize product rejects based on observed defects.
  • Accurately count, document, and report quality-related data every two hours (quarterly throughout the shift).
  • Identify and communicate quality or compliance concerns, providing detailed notes and documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to identify errors, address quality concerns, and improve production processes.
  • Communicate quality trends, observations, and opportunities for continuous improvement to leadership.
  • Support the identification and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Properly use, clean, and maintain equipment, tools, and materials according to approved procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the workday.
  • Remain receptive to coaching and performance feedback from leadership.
  • Assist with product testing, experiments, and the evaluation of new products or production processes as needed.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify product defects, accurately count and record data, and verify product labeling.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally, collaborate with team members, follow instructions, and ask questions when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, make accurate observations, and recommend solutions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, processes, and production needs.
  • Ability to follow and uphold workplace health and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing conditions and practices necessary to produce safe, high-quality products.

Required Experience:

  • 1+ years experience in a quality control or quality assurance role
  • 1 + years experience with accurate and timely data reporting

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the cannabis, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated production industries.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of standing or sitting for long periods
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs
  • Must have full dexterity and range of motion in the hands and fingers for precise handling of materials.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive movements with the hands and arms for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to wear all mandatory Personal Protective Equipment provided
