Overview

Part-Time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Southern Ocean Medical Center

Manahawkin, New Jersey

We are seeking a dedicated child and adolescent psychiatrist to join our team and provide exceptional mental health care to the young people and families in our community. This position offers a consistent daytime schedule in an office setting, allowing you to make a significant impact while maintaining personal and professional equilibrium.

Schedule:
  • Standard Hours:20 hours per week, on site 2.5 days per week (specific days to be mutually agreed upon)
  • Shift:Primarily daytime hours
  • Weekend & Holiday Work:Required as needed to ensure continuity of care
  • On-Call:On-call commitment is required


In this role, you will be a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents, developing and implementing developmentally appropriate treatment plans, and providing medication management. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of children and adolescents to diagnose mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families/caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications for pediatric patients, adjusting as necessary.
  • Partner with families, pediatricians, schools, and community agencies to coordinate care and support continuity across settings.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to our dedicated team of mental health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (General Psychiatry board certification preferred).
  • Current, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or eligibility to obtain) and DEA registration.
  • Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage children, adolescents, and their families.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-focused care.


Compensation
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. Minimum rate of $132.21 Hourly. Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
