Sales Associate Part-Time (Budtender)

As a part-time Sales Associate (Budtender) you’ll be the primary face of the store: greeting customers, educating them on our in-house cultivated product line, guiding product selection based on needs and desired effects, maintaining compliant and accurate sales transactions, and supporting store merchandising and inventory. This role is ideal for someone who loves people, cares deeply about product quality and safety, and wants to grow their cannabis knowledge in a supportive environment.

Salary

$16 - $19 USD per hour

Required Skills

- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Legally eligible to work in Massachusetts and able to comply with state cannabis employment requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; comfortable conducting consultative conversations about product options and effects
- Basic math and cash-handling experience; comfortable using POS systems
- Reliable punctuality and the ability to maintain professional presentation and a welcoming presence
- Ability to follow all local and state cannabis regulations, including ID verification and transaction limits
- Open availability for part-time shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30–50 lbs (depending on store needs)
- Attention to detail for order accuracy, product labeling, and inventory tasks

Desired Skills

- Previous retail or dispensary/budtender experience in the cannabis industry
- Familiarity with Massachusetts seed-to-sale systems (e.g., Metrc) or retail inventory platforms
- Strong product knowledge of flower, concentrates, edibles, and topicals — or demonstrated willingness to learn quickly
- Retail merchandising and basic inventory management experience
- Certification or coursework in cannabis education, safety, or responsible sales
- Bilingual abilities to better serve the local community
- Comfort with upselling and achieving sales goals in a customer-first manner
- Interest in long-term growth within Elevated Roots and willingness to cross-train on additional retail or operational responsibilities
