Pay: up to $45 / hour Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem Respiratory Therapist Positions available - new rate structure for part-time and full-time RTs! Respiratory Therapist (RT) - Position Overview: At Elderwood at Williamsville, we are seeking Respiratory Therapists (RTs) to join our clinical network.Respiratory Therapist team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by carrying out skilled respiratory therapy treatments. Elderwood at Williamsville includes WNY's only non-hospital 20-bed dedicated vent unit. Screens and provide an in-depth evaluation of the needs of ventilator and respiratory clients. Consult with the attending physician regarding treatment protocol. Make written recommendations for interdisciplinary care planning and treatment. Inform residents or qualified representative about care and treatment plan and possibleoutcomes of treatment, or lack of treatment if resident refuses participation in a respiratory rehabilitation program. Identify problems and develop a complete plan of care according to facility/unit policy andfederal/state regulations. Initiate ventilator weaning protocol and/or respiratory rehabilitation in accordance with the physician’s orders; maintain required contact with physician. Maintain written records, evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries of residentsreceiving respiratory treatment and monitoring according to state, federal, and facility policies. Attend, as necessary, and provide input at the Resident Care Planning (RCP) meetings for interdisciplinaryteam and the Resident/Family Care Plan Review Meeting; complete required documentation after the meetings. Record resident’s plan of care in the Interdisciplinary Care Plan as required or as needed. Contribute to the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) within the established time frameand incorporate the results in the plan of care when appropriate. Confer with personnel of other departments and provide required training to meet special needsof residents. Graduation from an accredited AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy preferred New York State Licensed Respiratory Therapist. Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist by National Board of Respiratory Care.Previous experience with ventilator dependent residents preferred.Interest in respiratory therapy treatment program for chronic ventilator, ventilator weaning, and respiratory rehabilitation population.Ability to verbally communicate well with residents, families, and staff members.Ability to read and understand task assignments, ability to report verbally and provide written documentation as required.Display of genuine concern for the elderly; a dependable, patient and compassionate attitude towards residents. Display a demeanor which is always respectful of residents' rights and wishes.Ability to cooperate and maintain respectful treatment with others.
