Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Utilities Technician to join our food production team at our Frederick plant. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining essential utilities and systems that ensure efficient production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, particularly in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
• Operate and maintain boilers and associated equipment for steam generation and hot water production.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems and air conditioning units to maintain comfort and efficiency.
• Inspect and repair cold-water and hot-water systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with health regulations.
• Manage air compressor systems, ensuring reliable operation and addressing any issues promptly.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and perform necessary repairs to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and address any utility-related issues that may impact production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or related fields preferred.
• Proven experience as a Utilities Technician or in a similar role, preferably within a food production environment.
• Certification as an Ammonia Operator and Boiler Operator is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with maintenance procedures for HVAC systems, air compressors, and water systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
