Process Engineer - Industrial Water Desalination/Filtration

Senior Process Engineer - Industrial Water Treatment

  • LOCATION - Houston, TX area (The Woodlands/Conroe, TX area)

  • Direct Hire/Perm

  • Work is ONSITE - Sorry, no remote or Hybrid work options available ( occassional travel will be part of the role)

We are currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the design, optimization, and operation of industrial water, wastewater, recycling, and desalination systems for our facility where we convert oilfield-produced water into high-quality water suitable for reuse.

 This role will lead process-engineering efforts across project lifecycles, from concept development through startup and performance optimization.  Some of the potential day-to-day responsibilities for this Engineer will include:

  • Contributing to produced water treatment process design

  • Working with Desalination system development and optimization

  • When applicable, working with pilot plant testing and scale-up

  • Working to optimize Membrane treatment systems application and performance.

  • Optimizing DAF, filtration, clarification, and chemical treatment processes.

  • Performing process simulations, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing.

 

 This role plays a KEY role in the following areas:

  • Designing and optimizing water treatment, reuse, desalination, and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Performing process calculations, hydraulic analyses, equipment sizing, and process simulations.
  • Developing process documentation including design criteria, flow diagrams, P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical reports.
  • Supporting feasibility studies, pilot testing, detailed design, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborating with operations, automation, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Evaluate new technologies and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Monitor process performance, analyze operational data, and develop KPI reporting.
  • Support instrumentation, controls, and automation initiatives to improve system performance.

Ideally qualified professionals will bring with them, as much of the following to the role, as possible:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in process engineering, industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment, recycling, or desalination.
  • Strong experience with process optimization, facility design, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of treatment technologies, DAF systems, process controls, and industrial operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50%, but not on a regular basis.
