Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Growth
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to achieve regional revenue and growth objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities within the multifamily renovation and construction market.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with property owners, asset managers, developers, architects, consultants, and industry partners.
- Re-engage former clients and foster long-term partnerships through exceptional service and relationship management.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across the region.
Client Engagement & Industry Presence
- Serve as a market ambassador and represent the organization at industry events, conferences, trade associations, and networking functions.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, emerging opportunities, and industry developments.
- Develop outreach strategies that include networking, cold prospecting, relationship-based selling, and targeted business campaigns.
- Partner with marketing to support brand awareness initiatives, digital outreach, social media engagement, and client communications.
Estimating & Proposal Development
- Evaluate project opportunities and develop conceptual budgets and cost estimates.
- Analyze labor, materials, schedules, and project requirements to determine overall project costs.
- Perform value engineering reviews and provide recommendations to optimize project budgets and profitability.
- Lead and participate in the preparation of competitive proposals, bid responses, contract negotiations, and purchase agreement discussions.
- Support the successful transition of awarded projects to operations teams.
Strategic Leadership
- Provide regular updates regarding business development activity, market conditions, and sales performance.
- Maintain awareness of regional financial performance and business objectives.
- Track notable project starts, completions, and market activity to identify future opportunities and support business growth initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between business development, operations, preconstruction, and marketing teams.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of business development, sales, estimating, or preconstruction experience within the construction industry.
- Proven success developing and securing multifamily renovation or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project delivery methods, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to estimate labor, materials, and project costs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to assess profitability and project feasibility.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and related business tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred
- Established network within the multifamily ownership, management, development, or renovation sectors.
- Experience leading regional market expansion initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of renovation, capital improvement, and value-add construction programs.
