Territory Development Manager

Brand Development Manager

Position Overview
The Brand Development Manager will lead brand-building and sales growth across the New York and New Jersey territory. This role combines hands-on field engagement with strategic account development, distributor/channel management, and brand education to increase distribution, velocity, and consumer awareness of our products in foodservice and retail channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory plan for NY & NJ that grows distribution, sales velocity, and share of shelf across target accounts (retail, specialty grocers, foodservice).
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue new account opportunities; build strong retailer and foodservice relationships to secure listings and promotional placements.
  • Partner with distributors and brokers to optimize route-to-market execution, inventory flow, and merchandising standards; manage distributor KPIs and program compliance.
  • Conduct regular field visits and in-store/service checks to coach retail and foodservice staff, ensure correct product placement, pricing, and point-of-sale materials.
  • Deliver brand education and product training to retail buyers, store teams, and foodservice operators to drive trial and repeat purchases.
  • Collaborate with marketing to plan and execute regional trade promotions, demos, sampling programs, and local events; provide market feedback to inform activation.
  • Use sales and market data to analyze performance, identify growth opportunities, and refine territory strategy; prepare regular forecasting and performance reports.
  • Represent Walkerswood at trade shows, broker meetings, and customer events; manage territory budget and expense tracking.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the Food & Beverage industry with a demonstrated track record in territory or account growth.
  • Proven experience in field sales, account identification and expansion, or brand development in retail and/or foodservice channels.
  • Experience working with distributors, brokers, or multi-channel route-to-market partners (Distributor/Channel Management).
  • Strong presentation and training skills with experience in brand education or in-store/onsite coaching.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field; must be able to travel frequently across NY & NJ and have a valid drivers license.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis to translate sales data into actionable plans.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: experience specifically growing territories (Territory Growth) and identifying/expanding accounts, plus prior success in Field Sales and Distributor/Channel Management.
  • Preferred: experience with data analysis tools or reporting platforms to support performance measurement and decision-making.
