Job description

Tax Senior
We are a growing Scottsdale CPA firm where you'll own complex returns, mentor staff, and step into leadership as the firm expands - not someday, but on a defined track.
What you'll do
  • Prepare and perform initial reviews of complex federal and state returns for individuals, C-corps, S-corps, partnerships, and trusts
  • Manage an active portfolio of privately-held businesses and high-net-worth individual clients as their primary day-to-day contact
  • Lead tax research and help implement proactive planning strategies that deliver measurable results for clients
  • Coach and support staff accountants, raising the quality and consistency of overall team output
  • Own your engagements end-to-end - managing deadlines, workflow, and client deliverables through peak season
  • Identify tax savings opportunities and risk areas, and communicate findings clearly to managers
What you need
  • Active CPA license, Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, or active CPA Candidate status (required - no exceptions)
  • 3+ years of public accounting tax experience with demonstrated growth in responsibility
  • Hands-on experience preparing multi-entity and multi-state returns
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax law
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Scottsdale, AZ
Nice to have
  • Experience with high-net-worth individual and trust taxation
  • Familiarity with UltraTax, Lacerte, or similar professional tax software
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Prior experience mentoring or onboarding junior staff

  • Salary: $85,000 to $105,000 / year depending on experience
