Job description
About The Job
Are you tired of basic, transaction-driven tax prep and ready to deliver true strategic value?
Based in Scottsdale, AZ, we are a premier CPA and financial advisory firm dedicated to year-round, proactive tax planning. Moving far beyond "cookie-cutter" tax compliance, we specialize in high-impact tax strategies, wealth building, and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, real estate investors, and professional service business owners across all 50 states and international jurisdictions. We pride ourselves on transparent client partnerships, advanced research, and creating permanent tax savings rather than temporary deferrals.
We are seeking a proactive Tax Senior / Tax Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead complex tax strategy engagements, work directly with ambitious business owners and investors, and collaborate on comprehensive wealth planning. If you want to expand your technical skills in a client-centric, advisory-first environment, we'd love to connect.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Tax Planning: Lead mid-year and year-end planning engagements to identify, model, and execute advanced tax strategies and permanent tax savings for clients.
Complex Compliance & Review: Oversee the accurate preparation and technical review of federal, multi-state, and international tax returns for pass-through entities, corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
Client Advisory: Serve as a primary trusted advisor, maintaining regular, proactive communication to guide clients through business entity structuring, real estate transactions, and long-term wealth goals.
Specialized Consulting: Assist clients with specialized advisory projects, including accounting system setups, profit-sharing strategies, and multi-state/international activity analysis.
Team Leadership & Research: Stay at the forefront of evolving tax legislation, conduct advanced tax research, and mentor rising accounting staff in complex tax concepts.
Qualifications
Credentials: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
Experience: 3 to 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience in taxation, with a heavy emphasis on tax planning and pass-through entities.
Niche Expertise: Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, real estate investors/developers, and professional service firms is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong background in federal, multi-state, and complex multi-entity structures; proficiency with modern tax software platforms and research tools.
Client-First Mindset: Exceptional communication and analytical skills with a passion for creative problem-solving and delivering high-touch client service.
Why Join Us?
Advisory-First Model: Focus on proactive, year-round consulting and permanent tax reduction strategies rather than standard, high-volume compliance.
Sophisticated Client Exposure: Work with diverse, high-value client portfolios including complex real estate holdings, multi-state operations, and international tax activities.
Year-Round Impact: Ditch the seasonal burnout of traditional firms with structured, year-long client engagement cycles.
Professional Growth & Support: Access to advanced research tools, continuous learning, CPA/CPE coverage, and clear pathways for career advancement.
Competitive Compensation Package: Generous base salary, performance bonuses, comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, and paid time off.
