Superintendent II | Industrial and Commercial Construction | Charlotte, NC
A respected and growing commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead the field execution of a significant upcoming industrial project based in the Charlotte market. This role is ideal for a proven field leader who thrives on ownership, accountability, and developing high-performing teams while delivering complex projects safely, on time, and on budget.
In addition to Charlotte-based operations, this position will require periodic travel to support project needs and future industrial construction opportunities throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary field leader on large-scale industrial construction projects from mobilization through closeout.
- Develop, maintain, and drive the project's CPM schedule and short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Lead subcontractor coordination, pre-installation meetings, and weekly scheduling meetings.
- Direct all field operations, ensuring project milestones, quality standards, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Champion a proactive safety culture through daily oversight, safety meetings, inspections, and OSHA compliance.
- Track subcontractor manpower, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain schedule commitments.
- Coordinate inspections, permitting activities, and interactions with local authorities and third-party inspectors.
- Oversee punch list completion, commissioning activities, and project closeout efforts.
- Partner closely with Project Management to develop execution strategies, subcontractor scopes, and site logistics plans.
- Mentor and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and other field personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- 7+ years of construction experience with a strong background leading industrial, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or large-scale commercial projects.
- Demonstrated success managing complex schedules and coordinating multiple trades simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, safety regulations, quality control processes, and building codes.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling tools.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
