Staff Product Manager
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $200,000 - $400,000 base
We are working with a growing technology company in New York City that is looking for a Staff Product Manager to join its product organization.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of product strategy, technology, and execution. You will work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to identify important problems, define solutions, and take new products and initiatives from initial concept through adoption.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, can communicate effectively with both executives and technical teams, and enjoys turning complex business problems into products that deliver measurable results.
What You'll Do
- Own product initiatives from strategy and discovery through launch and adoption
- Identify and prioritize high-impact product opportunities
- Translate complex business requirements into clear product strategies and technical requirements
- Work closely with engineering teams to design and deliver new products and capabilities
- Develop product roadmaps and make prioritization decisions across competing opportunities
- Work directly with stakeholders and users to understand problems, gather feedback, and iterate quickly
- Define success metrics and measure the business impact of product initiatives
- Lead early-stage product development and experimentation
- Help identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies to meaningful business problems
- Develop repeatable processes and product practices as the organization scales
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience owning complex products or technology initiatives from concept through production
- Experience operating at a Staff, Principal, Lead, or comparable level of ownership
- Strong product judgment and ability to prioritize effectively in ambiguous environments
- Ability to understand complex technical systems and communicate effectively with engineering teams
- Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders
- Track record of launching products and driving measurable outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to move quickly while making thoughtful product and technical tradeoffs
- Experience working in a startup, high-growth technology company, consulting environment, or similarly fast-paced organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's or advanced degree from a strong academic program
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on AI, machine learning, or other emerging technology products
- Previous experience as a founder, engineer, technical product manager, or strategy consultant
- Experience taking products or initiatives from 0-to-1
- Experience working with complex enterprise products or users
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort working closely with software engineers
- Experience working with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams
- Familiarity with large language models and modern AI applications
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $400,000 per year, depending on experience and level.
