Sr Associate | Labor & Employment | Up to $180k Base

Position Overview

Premier law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice in Philadelphia. This attorney will have significant experience advising employers on a broad range of workplace issues, including employment law compliance, employee relations, workplace policies, discipline and termination matters, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and employment litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation and counseling experience, including handling discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and whistleblower claims, and will be comfortable working directly with clients in the healthcare, education, and broader business sectors. Qualifications

  • Active Admission to the PA Bar (NJ is a PLUS)
  • 5+ years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with substantial litigation experience in federal and state courts.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on trade secrets, restrictive covenants, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and unfair competition matters.
  • Proven track record handling employment litigation including motions practice, depositions, discovery management, and trial preparation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to write persuasive briefs and present effectively in court and at mediations.
  • Experience conducting internal investigations and drafting clear, defensible investigation reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and priorities, mentor junior attorneys, and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent judgment, client-facing skills, and a commitment to ethical practice and client service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead litigation matters from inception through trial, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial exhibits.
  • Counsel clients on employment law issues such as wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
  • Advise clients on restrictive covenants, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, trade secret protection, and unfair competition strategies and enforcement.
  • Conduct internal investigations into employee misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and trade secret misappropriation; prepare investigation reports and recommended remedial actions.
  • Develop and implement proactive compliance programs, employee handbooks, policies, and training for employers across industries.
  • Prepare and negotiate separation agreements, severance packages, and settlement agreements, and represent clients at mediations and settlement conferences.
