Job description
We're partnering with an innovative consumer technology organization seeking a Senior Android Power & Performance Engineer to optimize power consumption, battery life, and thermal performance on advanced Android-based embedded devices. This role will focus on system-level debugging, power characterization, performance optimization, and cross-functional investigation spanning software, firmware, drivers, kernels, and hardware.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize Android power consumption across active, idle, sleep, suspend, and deep-sleep states
- Investigate battery drain, thermal throttling, wake events, and performance bottlenecks
- Debug issues across Android Framework, HAL, drivers, Linux kernel, firmware, and system services
- Utilize Perfetto, BatteryStats, dumpsys, systrace, kernel traces, and log analysis tools
- Correlate software behavior with measured power consumption and battery performance
- Develop structured validation and power characterization plans
Requirements
- 8+ years of Android and/or embedded systems experience
- Deep understanding of Android power management
- Strong Embedded Linux experience
- Experience with Qualcomm or similar mobile SoC platforms
- Experience debugging power, battery, thermal, or performance issues
- Strong C/C++ skills
