Showroom Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Showroom Manager to lead day to day operations of a high end decorative plumbing and fixtures showroom, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and drive sales and profitability. The ideal candidate combines retail leadership with strong product and technical knowledge, including decorative plumbing and installation coordination, manages vendor relationships and inventory flow from a central warehouse, and uses sales data to optimize staffing and performance. This role is responsible for showroom presentation, scheduling, and ensuring a high level of service for both retail and trade clients.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and motivate a team of five sales consultants and one to two assistant managers to achieve sales targets, maintain high customer service standards, and foster a positive team culture
-Oversee appointment scheduling through the showroom booking software to ensure clients are met by the right team member at the right time
-Manage showroom merchandising and product displays to keep them visually appealing and current
-Oversee inventory of a small on site stock of common items, primarily valves and toilets, while coordinating with the central warehouse for the bulk of product fulfillment
-Coordinate vendor relationships and purchase order processes to ensure timely product availability
-Develop pricing and quotes for retail and trade clients, with more competitive pricing on larger projects, while maintaining strong margin objectives
-Track sales performance and store level metrics to inform staffing and merchandising decisions
-Consult directly with homeowners, interior designers, architects, contractors, and plumbers on product selection and project needs
-Maintain product knowledge across decorative plumbing and related categories, and train staff to support consultative selling
-Be the first point of contact when issues arise, covering pricing, customer service, inventory turns, or scheduling
-Coordinate installation timing with installation teams and vendors when needed
-Use AutoCAD or similar space planning tools as needed to support design consultations, not required
Qualifications
-Deep product knowledge of decorative plumbing or a closely related high end category such as designer lighting, tile, or custom cabinetry
-Prior experience at a comparable showroom such as Waterworks, a Delta showroom, Ferguson, Visual Comfort, or a premium tile or cabinetry brand
-Strong leadership and staff scheduling skills with a focus on customer service and team development
-Comfort working with high dollar trade accounts, interior designers, and architects
-Experience with vendor management, purchase orders, and inventory coordination
-Strong communication and negotiation skills
-Familiarity with appointment booking systems and installation coordination
-Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced retail environment
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including one weekend day per week, to support showroom coverage and customer appointments
-AutoCAD familiarity a plus but not required
