Position Overview

 
 


We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Tax Manager to lead our tax advisory and compliance functions. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients, including closely-held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and corporations. You will manage complex tax engagements, mentor aspiring tax professionals, and drive business development initiatives to support the firm's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and sign complex federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C-corporations, S-corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Provide advanced tax planning, consulting, and restructuring strategies to maximize client wealth and minimize liability.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of tax seniors and supervisors by providing clear feedback and technical guidance.
  • Build and maintain exceptional client relationships, serving as their primary point of contact for complex tax matters.
  • Monitor industry trends, legislative changes, and new tax laws to proactively identify planning opportunities for clients.
  • Oversee engagement workflow, budgeting, and billing to ensure profitable and timely delivery of services.
Qualifications
  • Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or EA (Enrolled Agent) credential is required.
  • Must be local to the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area and willing to work in our local office 2-3 days per week.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's in Taxation or LLM is a plus).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
  • Proven experience reviewing complex corporate, partnership, and individual returns.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and developing staff.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical clients.
