Senior Tax Manager - CPA - HYBRID

Job Opening: Senior Tax Manager

Location: Scottsdale or Chandler, AZ (Hybrid at both offices!) 

Salary: $120K-$170K base + bonus

We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Senior Tax Manager to lead our tax department. This role is designed for a "player-coach" who can oversee complex tax compliance, drive high-level tax planning initiatives, and mentor a professional team in a fast-paced environment. We have 2 offices currently, one located in Scottsdale and the other in Chandler.


Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance & Review: Oversee the preparation and final review of complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Strategic Planning: Identify and implement sophisticated tax-saving strategies while ensuring full compliance with ever-changing legislative requirements.

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, providing regular performance feedback and technical guidance.

  • Advisory Services: Act as a key consultant for internal leadership or external clients on technical tax matters.

  • Risk Management: Maintain the firm's tax risk profile by ensuring accurate tax accounting (ASC 740) and timely filings across all jurisdictions.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Taxation (MST) is highly preferred.

  • Certification: Active CPA license is required.

  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting 

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, statutory accounting, and multi-state tax regulations.

  • Communication: Ability to distill complex tax concepts into actionable business advice for non-tax stakeholders.
