Senior Superintendent(Or strong Lead) | Commercial and Industrial Construction | Raleigh, NC
A leading commercial construction firm is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee complex projects and provide field leadership from groundbreaking through closeout. This role is responsible for driving project execution, maintaining schedule and quality standards, promoting a strong safety culture, and mentoring field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, trades, and project teams.
- Own and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Drive jobsite safety, quality control, and compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, pre-installation meetings, and trade coordination meetings.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to support project planning, budgeting, and subcontractor management.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, and productivity.
- Manage project punch lists, inspections, and closeout activities.
- Develop and mentor Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5-10+ years of commercial, institutional, or industrial construction experience, including supervisory leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, safety, and quality management.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
Work Environment
This is a field-based leadership role requiring regular presence on active construction sites. Candidates should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, navigating uneven terrain, climbing ladders and stairs, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Frequent travel may be required.
