Senior Quality Engineer

Senior Quality Engineer

Based in Billerica, MA, we are an industry leader manufacturing highly engineered electro-mechanical products for customers operating in regulated and technology-driven industries.

We're seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to improve product quality, resolve technical issues, and drive operational excellence across the organization.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary quality lead for product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead customer quality investigations, root cause analysis activities, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Define inspection requirements, identify process failure modes, and drive reductions in scrap, rework, and quality-related costs
  • Conduct manufacturing process audits, quality system audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Analyze and present quality metrics, trends, and performance data to management teams
  • Support new product introduction, prototype builds, and product launches to ensure quality requirements are achieved
  • Develop supplier quality requirements, inspection plans, sampling strategies, and supplier performance improvement initiatives
  • Mentor cross-functional teams on problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 5-Why, DMAIC, SPC, and FMEA
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve operational performance and product reliability
  • Drive implementation of continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent quality engineering experience
  • 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience with a degree, or 8+ years of relevant quality experience without a degree
  • Experience supporting machining, welding, brazing, assembly manufacturing, or electro-mechanical products
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system; AS9100 experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5-Why, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience using Minitab for statistical analysis, capability studies, Gage R&R, and process control applications
  • Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
