Senior Project Manager - Heavy Highway
Location: Marietta, GA
Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead heavy road and highway construction projects from preconstruction through completion. The role is responsible for delivering safe, on-time, and on-budget roadway, bridge, and paving projects while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with DOT and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and driving milestone achievement.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, estimating, and change orders to ensure profitability.
- Lead subcontractors, vendors, and field teams while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity.
- Coordinate contracts, RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation.
- Ensure compliance with DOT specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
- Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and related tools for project and document management.
- Identify risks, enforce safety standards, and implement corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary client contact, collaborating with owners, engineers, and DOT representatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years managing heavy highway, roadway, bridge, and paving projects.
- Experience with DOT projects, contract administration, change orders, and compliance.
- Strong budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and cost control skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of heavy civil construction, including grading, drainage, paving, and bridge work.
- Heavy highway, transportation, infrastructure, and bridge project experience preferred.
