Senior Project Manager | Commercial Construction | Wilmington, NC
A well-established and highly respected commercial construction firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major projects throughout the Wilmington market. This is a local position with no travel requirements, offering the opportunity to manage impactful projects while building strong relationships within the coastal North Carolina community.
The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with experience overseeing complex projects from preconstruction through closeout, driving schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction while mentoring project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for commercial construction projects from planning through completion.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, contract administration, and financial performance.
- Lead project teams, including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and support staff.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and client expectations are achieved.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues impacting schedule, budget, or quality.
- Lead project meetings, reporting, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor agreements, scopes of work, and procurement strategies.
- Ensure successful project closeout, turnover, and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including significant project management responsibility.
- Proven track record managing large-scale commercial, healthcare, multifamily, education, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong expertise in project financial management, scheduling, contract administration, and risk management.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software platforms.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license required.
