Are you an experienced Mechanical Project Manager looking for an opportunity to lead complex HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects from concept to completion? We are seeking a results-driven professional to join a growing and respected construction organization that values technical expertise, accountability, collaboration, and project excellence.

About the Role

The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will oversee all phases of mechanical construction projects, including planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, execution, and closeout. The successful candidate will leverage strong leadership and technical skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position requires an individual who can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Manage mechanical, HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects from award through completion.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings and facilitate ongoing project coordination.
  • Transition projects seamlessly from estimating into execution.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Deliver projects within established cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to leadership.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Continuously track project costs and profitability.
  • Prepare and price change orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Review and approve invoices for payment.
  • Submit timely and accurate requests for payment.
  • Utilize value engineering strategies to maximize project efficiency and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate project estimates and cost tracking documentation.

Procurement & Materials Management

  • Purchase equipment and materials while ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate fabrication schedules and material shipments.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and project documentation.
  • Manage vendor relationships and warranty compliance.

Technical Coordination

  • Oversee shop drawing review and coordination.
  • Manage project submittals and documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering and drafting activities.
  • Ensure contract compliance and adherence to project specifications.
  • Oversee development of operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure timely completion of as-built drawings and project closeout requirements.

Team & Field Coordination

  • Build strong working relationships with Superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Coordinate workforce requirements with operations and HR teams.
  • Direct and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Attend project meetings and provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety programs.
  • Maintain adherence to all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence across all project activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project management/scheduling software.
  • Understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and project controls.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Preferred

  • Experience with large-scale mechanical construction projects.
  • Strong estimating and cost-control background.
  • Familiarity with BIM, shop drawing coordination, and construction technology platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
