Job description
Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Custom Robotic & Automation Systems
Location: Dayton, OH 45414
Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 + Bonus
Founded in 1998, we are a specialized automation integrator headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, with roughly 40-50 employees. At our Dayton facility, we design and build custom robotic and automation systems that integrate FANUC robotics and peripheral equipment. Our solutions serve industries such as automotive, heavy manufacturing, and precision component suppliers, delivering automation that improves efficiency, safety, and profitability.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and debugging of specialty robotic systems, ensuring projects move seamlessly from concept to shop floor to client site.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design robotic systems from concept through detailed manufacturing prints, including assembly details and schematics
- Develop bills of materials and support purchasing activities to ensure timely project execution
- Support machinists and assemblers during build and debug phases, providing technical guidance
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry safety standards
- Write operations manuals and provide training support for customers
What You Need for This Position
- 5+ years of robotics/automation design experience with proven success in new equipment development
- FANUC robotics expertise and hands-on experience with custom automation equipment design
- SolidEdge and AutoCAD proficiency (or similar 2D/3D design tools)
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics systems for automation equipment
- Project management experience with excellent communication and collaboration skills
