Senior Financial Analyst

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting that support our construction and development business lines. The role will drive budgeting, operational forecasting, project and development proformas, and month-end analysis to enable data-driven decisions, improve profitability, and support strategic growth. The ideal candidate combines advanced financial modeling skills with practical construction/development experience and familiarity with Sage accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models, development proformas, and project-level forecasts to support construction and real estate development decisions.
  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning for operational and project portfolios.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights on revenue, costs, margins, and cashflow; present results to leadership and project teams.
  • Partner with construction project managers, development teams, and operations to monitor project performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage month-end and quarter-close financial reporting, including accruals, reconciliations, and management packs for senior leadership.
  • Support capital planning, financing analyses, and investment evaluations including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Drive process improvements and automation across financial reporting and forecasting workflows; implement best practices in ERP/financial systems.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to cross-functional initiatives to align financial objectives with operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive financial analysis experience, with at least 2 years in construction, real estate development, or project-based industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling (proformas, NPV, IRR).
  • Hands-on experience with Sage accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Sage 300) and advanced proficiency in Excel; experience integrating data from ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to synthesize complex data and communicate clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; experience collaborating with project managers, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Track record of driving process improvements, automation, and scalable reporting solutions.
