Senior Account Executive
Position Overview
The Senior Account Executive will drive revenue growth by managing and expanding key commercial accounts, leading complex sales cycles, and delivering tailored flooring solutions. This role focuses on building long-term client relationships, identifying new opportunities in the commercial flooring market, and coordinating with estimating and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets for commercial flooring products and services.
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts, serving as the primary client contact and trusted advisor for flooring solutions.
- Conduct takeoffs and collaborate with estimating teams to prepare accurate, competitive proposals and bids.
- Lead end-to-end sales cycles: prospecting, qualification, presentations, negotiations, contract close, and post-sale follow-up.
- Coordinate with project managers, operations, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and installation that meets quality standards.
- Maintain and update opportunity and account information in the CRM; provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and through prospecting to expand market share.
- Prepare persuasive proposals, presentations, and tender responses tailored to client needs and project specifications.
- Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and site visits to promote solutions and strengthen relationships.
- Mentor and share best practices with junior sales staff and contribute to cross-functional process improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of success in commercial flooring or construction-related sales.
- Demonstrated experience performing takeoffs, estimating, or working closely with estimating teams on commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial flooring products, installation methods, and industry standards (carpet, LVT, sheet goods, resilient, carpet tile, etc.).
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office; ability to produce clear proposals and reports.
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as needed.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and to mentor junior team members.
