Job description
Senior Account Executive - Custom Trade Show Exhibits
(100% New Business / Hunter Role)
Location: Remote - United States (preference given to candidates located near major convention markets such as Las Vegas, Orlando, Chicago, or similar high-traffic show cities)
Employment Type: Full-time, W-2
Role Summary
We are aggressively expanding our national sales organization and are currently seeking an experienced Senior Account Executives focused exclusively on new business development in the custom trade show exhibit industry.
This is a pure hunter role - no inherited book of business, no house accounts to start with. Success depends on your ability to generate, qualify, and close high-value custom exhibit opportunities from zero.
Primary Focus
- Custom 20x20 inline and larger island configurations
- High-impact, fully custom solutions (not portable, modular, or off-the-shelf displays)
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate and qualify new opportunities through outbound prospecting, strategic networking, referrals, and industry research
- Own the full sales cycle: cold outreach -> discovery & qualification -> needs analysis -> design collaboration -> proposal -> negotiation -> close
- Target 4-6+ qualified new meetings per week through consistent prospecting activity
- Partner closely with internal design directors and design teams to create bespoke, high-quality custom booth solutions
- Walk major trade shows (especially during install days) for prospecting and relationship building using company-provided ESKA badges
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships while continuing to hunt for net-new logos
- Retain accounts post-sale and earn ongoing commissions (no forced hand-off to account management)
- Travel as needed for client meetings, site surveys, and key industry events (travel funds typically built into project budgets once business is secured)
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of successful hunter / new business sales experience specifically in the custom exhibit / trade show booth industry
- Proven track record consistently delivering $2,000,000+ in annual product volume (ideally $2.5M-$4M+) at a custom exhibit house
- Experience working at mid-to-large custom exhibit companies (e.g., Derse, Impact, Astound, or similar organizations) strongly preferred
- Demonstrated full-cycle sales ownership - must be comfortable both generating your own pipeline and carrying deals through to close (not just passing qualified leads to closers)
- Deep understanding of custom exhibit components: rental hardware, custom fabrication, large-format graphics, and integrated show services
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with design and estimating teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Self-motivated, resilient, and energized by a high-upside, performance-based environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S.-based candidates only)
Nice-to-Haves
- Existing relationships with corporate event/marketing decision-makers, agencies, or trade show organizers
- Proximity to major convention centers (ability to walk local shows without significant travel)
- Comfort starting with zero accounts and building a book of business from the ground up
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth team with one of the most competitive commission structures in the custom exhibit industry, long-term account ownership, and meaningful profit-sharing on project contingencies.
If you are a proven hunter who thrives in custom exhibit sales and wants uncapped earning potential tied directly to your performance, we want to speak with you.
