What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and monitor company-wide safety programs, protocols, and compliance initiatives
- Serve as the primary safety and risk resource for active construction projects nationwide
- Maintain direct communication with executive leadership regarding safety performance, concerns, and company-wide initiatives
- Conduct jobsite visits to reinforce safety standards and ensure compliance across field operations
- Review and monitor safety procedures for self-perform crews and subcontractors
- Represent the company during client-facing safety discussions and meetings
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to field and office personnel
- Promote company-wide safety awareness and foster a proactive safety culture
- Build strong relationships with field employees, project teams, management, clients, and partners
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and documentation
- Support risk management efforts including insurance requirements and certificate of insurance compliance
- Work closely with project management and field leadership to ensure safety expectations are consistently executed
- Partner with an external safety consulting firm when additional project-specific support is required
- Balance approximately 70% office-based safety leadership and reporting responsibilities with 30% field inspections and jobsite visits
What You Need for this Position
- 10+ years of construction industry experience
- Experience working for a Commercial General Contractor
- Experience overseeing safety programs for self-perform construction operations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Experience monitoring both field crews and subcontractors
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety initiatives
- Experience creating and managing Site Specific Safety Plans
- Familiarity with insurance requirements and certificates of insurance
- Strong presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to conduct safety training for construction personnel
- Strong relationship-building abilities with both field and office employees
- Experience representing contractors in client-facing safety discussions
- Aviation construction experience strongly preferred
- OSHA 500, CSP, or ability to obtain certifications with company support
- Ability to travel as needed to active project sites
