Safety Manager/Representative - Life Science
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Safety Field Representative to serve as the on-site safety engineer and advocate for safe work practices across pharmaceutical, life sciences, and bio-tech facilities. Operating within a high-standard pharmaceutical client environment, this role oversees compliance across specialized settings including cleanrooms, regulated laboratories, and active capital project construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site Safety Field Representative monitoring capital projects across pharmaceutical laboratories, R&D spaces, cleanrooms, and industrial areas.
- Enforce safety programs and ensure OSHA/EHS compliance.
- Investigate incidents and near misses; develop corrective actions.
- Lead safety training, toolbox talks, and new-hire orientations.
- Maintain safety records, permits, reports, and compliance logs.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety into operations.
- Track safety metrics and recommend improvements.
- Support emergency planning, audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Promote a strong safety culture through coaching and observations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of EHS/Safety field experience supporting pharmaceutical, life sciences, cleanroom, biotechnology, or highly regulated facility/construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS practices.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and report-writing skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites.
- Experience in safety, EHS, OSHA, quality, or construction safety roles.
- OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, or similar certifications preferred.
