Job Title: Quality Technician - Metrology
Location: Huntersville, NC on-site
Compensation: $70k-$80k/yr salary DOE
Requirements: 5+ years exp in Metrology, Quality for Precision Manufacturing, CMM, GD&T, Zeiss Calypso
Position Overview
A growing precision manufacturer is seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance - Metrology Technician to lead metrology activities and support CNC machining operations. This is a highly visible role focused on CMM programming, inspection, new product validation, calibration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CMM programs (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and advanced dimensional inspections
- Support CNC machining, assembly, and engineering teams with metrology expertise
- Lead metrology lab activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Validate prototypes and new product designs
- Support calibration programs and quality systems
- Analyze quality data using SAP, Excel, and Power BI
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Metrology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training; or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5+ years of metrology or quality experience in precision manufacturing
- Strong CMM programming experience (Zeiss Calypso
- Expertise in GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Experience supporting CNC machining environments
- Proficiency with inspection equipment and measurement systems
- Experience with SAP, Excel, and Power BI preferred
Preferred but not required
- ASQ CQE, CCT, or similar
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Certification in Advanced GD&T
