Quality Assurance Specialist
Pompano Beach, FL | Aerospace & Aviation | $70,000/Year + Comprehensive Benefits
Are you an experienced aerospace quality professional with expertise in FAA regulations, AS9100 requirements, and First Article Inspection Reporting? We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team and play a critical role in ensuring the airworthiness, compliance, and quality of aerospace components shipped to customers worldwide.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with customers, suppliers, OEMs, and regulatory agencies while supporting a high-performance aerospace quality organization.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Certify aerospace parts using FAA Form 8130-3 airworthiness certifications.
- Perform and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Utilize NetInspect to create, review, submit, and maintain FAIR documentation and customer quality records.
- Ensure supplier products meet all contractual, regulatory, customer, and OEM requirements.
- Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace hardware.
Quality Systems & Problem Resolution
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformity.
- Investigate quality issues and support root cause and corrective action activities.
- Process customer returns and non-conforming material reports.
- Manage Quality Control Hold Area activities and product disposition.
- Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
Customer & Supplier Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, OEMs, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
- Maintain compliance with FAA, AS9100, ISO, OEM, and customer requirements.
- Assist in developing procedures, work instructions, training documentation, and quality processes.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of aerospace quality assurance, quality control, or inspection experience.
- Experience completing and reviewing AS9102 FAIR packages.
- Experience utilizing NetInspect or similar aerospace quality management systems.
- Strong understanding of FAA-regulated quality systems and aerospace industry requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement equipment.
Preferred
- Direct involvement with FAA-regulated operations or military-equivalent quality programs.
- Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
