Commercial Construction Project Superintendent
Location: Charleston, SC
Build Projects That Make a Difference
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Superintendent to join our growing team in Charleston, South Carolina. This position will oversee the successful field execution of commercial construction projects, including healthcare, medical office, outpatient, and other commercial developments throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who can drive schedules, manage subcontractors, maintain safety standards, and deliver high-quality projects while fostering strong relationships with owners, architects, and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall field leadership for commercial construction projects from start to completion
- Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Lead daily site operations, logistics planning, and sequencing activities
- Ensure projects are built according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
- Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate inspections
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues to avoid schedule impacts
- Maintain project documentation including daily reports, schedules, and safety records
- Oversee punch list completion and project closeout activities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
- Experience managing projects ranging from $5M to $50M+
- Healthcare construction experience preferred, including medical office buildings, outpatient facilities, renovations, or occupied healthcare environments
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with scheduling software and construction management platforms
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Stable work history with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects
