Project Manager (Dry Utilities, Traffic Signals & Electrical Infrastructure)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead delivery of infrastructure and electrical projects including dry utilities, traffic signal systems, street lighting, ITS, fiber installations, and data center infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, execution, and closeout while ensuring safety, quality, budgetary discipline, schedule adherence, and strong client and stakeholder relationships. This role requires both office-based coordination and frequent field engagement to ensure technical and contractual objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle from procurement and design coordination through construction, commissioning, and closeout for dry utilities, traffic signals, street lights, ITS, fiber, electrical systems, and data center infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and staffing plans; manage cost control and change order processes to meet financial targets.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, utilities, permitting agencies, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, sequence, and technical requirements.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on installation methods, testing and commissioning, splicing and termination for fiber, conduit installation for dry utilities, and electrical interfacing for traffic/lighting systems and data center equipment.
- Manage subcontractors and field crews, conduct regular site visits, progress reviews, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and company safety programs.
- Facilitate design review, constructability assessments, and value engineering to optimize project execution and minimize risk.
- Prepare and submit project documentation, status reports, RFIs, submittals, As-Builts, and closeout packages to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; develop recovery plans and escalate issues as appropriate to maintain schedule and budget.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements; oversee quality assurance/quality control processes.
- Mentor and develop project team members, promote collaborative problem-solving, and maintain high standards of client service.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive project management experience delivering infrastructure projects, with demonstrated experience in dry utilities, traffic signal systems, street lighting, ITS, fiber optic networks, electrical infrastructure, and/or data center projects.
- PMP, CCM, or similar project management certification preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of conduit and cable installation, fiber splicing/terminations, traffic signal and street light systems, ITS components, electrical systems, and data center power/distribution fundamentals.
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, contract administration, change management, and claims avoidance.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, NESC, local utility standards) and permitting processes.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), Microsoft Office suite, and familiarity with AutoCAD/GIS preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to build strong client relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising field personnel and subcontractors; commitment to safety and quality.
- Willingness to travel to project sites regularly and hold a valid drivers license; OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
