Construction Project Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The successful candidate will manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors and project documentation, ensure quality and safety compliance, and maintain strong client and stakeholder communication to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction to closeout.
- Develop, maintain and drive project schedules; monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track costs, and implement cost-control measures.
- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications to guide execution.
- Procure materials and coordinate deliveries; manage subcontractor bidding, selection and performance.
- Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to specifications.
- Administer contracts, process change orders, and manage project documentation and reporting.
- Use project management software and tools to maintain schedules, RFIs, submittals, daily reports and document control.
- Communicate regularly with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to resolve issues and set expectations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks; implement corrective actions to address delays or budget overruns.
- Coordinate inspections, ensure regulatory and permitting compliance, and manage project closeout and turnover procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Project Manager on commercial construction projects (or equivalent experience).
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and shop drawings.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets and project documentation.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using Microsoft Project for scheduling.
- Familiarity with construction-specific tools: PlanGrid, Bluebeam and Procore (preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
- Working knowledge of construction means/methods, safety standards and quality controls.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as PMP, CCM or OSHA 10/30 are a plus.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
