Job description
Project Executive
Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Project Executive to lead and grow commercial MEP and HVAC projects from estimation through handover. The role combines project delivery, client relationship management and business development: ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to specification while expanding accounts and supporting sales opportunities in mechanical, electrical, piping and plumbing works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of MEP and HVAC projects across commercial construction contracts, ensuring scope, schedule and quality targets are met.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting and procurement; review and approve subcontractor agreements and change orders.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, piping/plumbing) and liaise with site supervisors, design engineers and consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as primary point of contact for project stakeholders and performing account management duties to secure repeat business.
- Support sales and business development by preparing proposals, tender responses, technical clarifications and commercial bids; identify and pursue upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies on site and in project execution.
- Implement project controls and reporting: produce progress reports, risk registers, meeting minutes and performance metrics for senior management and clients.
- Monitor installation quality and commissioning activities, coordinate testing and handover documentation, and ensure defects are closed out promptly.
- Mentor and develop project staff, promote continuous improvement and capture lessons learned for process and delivery enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline; relevant technical diplomas considered.
- Minimum 7 years experience in MEP/HVAC project delivery within commercial construction, with demonstrated progression to project leadership or executive roles.
- Proven track record managing mechanical, electrical, piping and plumbing works and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on medium to large projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, contract management, estimating and change control.
- Experience in sales/account management or business development within the construction or MEP sector, including preparing bids and nurturing client accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both site and executive-level stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management tools and MS Office; familiarity with BIM, AutoCAD, Revit or similar engineering tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and HSE regulations; certifications in project management (PMP/Prince2) or HVAC/mechanical trade certifications are a plus.
- Willingness to travel between project sites and client locations as required.
