Project Architect
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to lead architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration. The Project Architect will ensure designs meet client objectives, code requirements and quality standards while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The role requires strong technical skills, handson experience with BIM/Revit, and the ability to manage client relationships and construction administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project teams through all phases of design: schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Produce, review and maintain highquality construction documents, drawings and specifications that comply with codes and standards.
- Coordinate and integrate MEP, structural and specialty consultants to ensure seamless project delivery and resolve technical conflicts.
- Develop and manage BIM standards and Revit models; perform clash detection and maintain an accurate federated model.
- Serve as primary client contact for design decisions, project updates, and meetings; manage expectations and present design progress to stakeholders.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets and consultant scopes; track deliverables and ensure timely completion.
- Provide construction administration support including site observation, submittal and RFI review, and coordination of asbuilt documentation.
- Mentor junior staff, conduct design and technical reviews, and contribute to firm standards and quality control processes.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture (BArch, MArch) and 5+ years of relevant experience; experience leading project teams preferred.
- Licensed Architect preferred or ability to obtain licensure within a defined timeline.
- Demonstrated experience with Revit and BIM workflows, including model coordination, clash detection and federated modeling.
- Proven track record coordinating MEP systems and working knowledge of MEP design integration.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, and construction documentation practices.
- Experience with construction administration, site observation and resolving field issues.
- Familiarity with project management and financial systems; experience with Deltek and VantagePoint is a plus.
- Excellent communication, clientfacing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
