Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and grow in an automotive manufacturing environment. The Production Manager will oversee day-to-day production activities, ensure product quality, maintain production schedules, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop production supervisors, leads and floor staff to maintain high performance and engagement.
- Manage production schedules, resource allocation and workflow to ensure timely output and efficient use of capacity.
- Implement and monitor manufacturing processes, standard work, and quality control procedures to ensure product conformance.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement projects (Lean, Kaizen, 5S) to increase productivity, reduce waste and lower costs.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance and supply chain teams to resolve production issues and support new product introductions.
- Monitor production metrics (OEE, throughput, scrap, downtime) and provide regular reports and action plans to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations
- Manage budgetary responsibilities including labor, materials and equipment costs and recommend improvements to control expenditures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of progressive production leadership experience
- Proven experience managing production teams and implementing Lean manufacturing practices
- Background in automotive manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with production planning, scheduling, and use of manufacturing metrics (OEE, throughput, downtime analysis).
- Proficiency with manufacturing software (ERP/MRP) and MS Office; familiarity with production equipment and maintenance practices.
