Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations, drive process improvements, and lead technical projects from concept through commissioning. The role focuses on optimizing production performance, supporting new product introductions, executing capital projects, and ensuring safe, efficient plant testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, document and revise process layouts and P&IDs using AutoCAD and engineering standards.
- Lead process development activities for new product introductions, including scale-up, pilot trials and transfer to production.
- Plan, manage and execute capital projects including scope definition, cost estimates, scheduling, and coordination with cross-functional teams for project approval and delivery.
- Develop and execute plant tests, commissioning plans and validation activities to ensure new and modified systems meet performance and safety requirements.
- Identify, prioritize and implement process improvements to increase yield, reduce cycle time, lower costs and improve quality using data-driven methods.
- Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting process issues, providing technical guidance, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Prepare technical reports, process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for operations and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and maintenance to ensure alignment on project goals, materials selection, and process control strategies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and participate in risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Monitor process KPIs and develop dashboards and metrics to communicate performance and the impact of improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of process engineering or manufacturing experience in a production environment.
- Proven experience with AutoCAD and creation/revision of P&IDs and process documentation.
- Experience leading capital projects and navigating project approval processes from scope to commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with plant testing, commissioning and validation activities.
- Demonstrated success in new product introduction (NPI) and scale-up from pilot to production.
- Strong background in production support, troubleshooting and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with experience working cross-functionally across manufacturing, quality and procurement.
